Rovio Mobile Webcam

Rovio really deserves a spot on any blog that talks about cool gadgets. Rovio is a remote controlled mobile webcam. Basically it is a webcam with wheels. Rovio is a really cool way to check on the house or your pets while you are away.

Rovio caught this snapshot of our cat Smore. :) She looks a little crabby, but her and Rovio are great friends! It is fun to be able to check in on her no matter where we are with Rovio.

The iPOD app even lets me control rovio when we are on the go. All I need is a wifi hotspot and I can log right into Rovio to check out my cat.

The interface for controlling Rovio on the iPOD is a bit limited, but it is enough to drive around and take some snapshots(which it will save directly to your ipod photo reel.)

The computer interface for Rovio has a few more navigation options. One of the nice control options is to do a degree based turn. Meaning you can send Rovio a command to turn 90 degrees or 180 degrees. It makes navigating around in your house pretty sleek.

Rovio definitely looks really cool. Rovio's Tri-Wheel design lets you drive Rovio in any direction, as well as spinning on the spot. When Rovio's battery gets low, he can even automatically find his charging station.
